Gum Disease: The Silent Killer, 8 Home Remedies To Cure It Naturally

Healthy nutrition is the key to helping fight gum disease, which is not only important for oral health, but also to general health and well-being. Nobody likes gum disease, and here is how to nip it in the bud.

Gingivitis or gum disease is the inflammation of the tissues that surround the teeth and is mostly commonly a result from poor dental hygiene. It is characterized by red, swollen gums that bleed easily when teeth are brushed or flossed. Gingivitis isn’t the same thing as periodontists, although sometimes a person can be affected by both at the same time.

Gingivitis starts as food debris mixed with saliva and bacteria forming plaque that can stick to the surfaces of the teeth. If gingivitis is left untreated it can extend from the gums to the bone and this leads to periodontitis. When the bone underneath gets infected, it will recede away from the teeth and for deep gum pockets. These pockets are collect plaque and bacteria because they are so difficult to keep clean.

Green Tea: A 2009 study was published and it affirmed that participants who consumed green tea extract has less periodontal disease, in addition to an escalation, in general, periodontal health. Drink 1-2 glasses of green tea extract daily.
Peroxide: Using hydrogen peroxide as a rinse can kill germs and encourage healthy gums. But be sure not to consume the peroxide.
Baking soda: Try mixing plain baking soda with just enough water to create a paste, then rub it along the gum line with your fingers. This will kill bacteria and protect your gums.
Clove oil: This is a common ingredient that can be found in quite a few natural treatment options for bleeding gums. Some national health practitioners propose rubbing clove oil to the affected gums.
Aloe: Aloe is featured in several remedies for swollen and bleeding gums. Just rub aloe on the gums and let it sit. Do this repeatedly until the problem goes away.
Lemon juice: Lemon juice contains anti-inflammatory properties that are useful for healing infected gums. Just squeeze the juice of a lemon and add a little bit of salt to it. Apply this paste to the teeth and leave it for several minutes before gargling water.
Tea tree oil: Tea tree oil is a very effective antiseptic that nature provides. Rub a little tea tree oil in the gums to stop gum disease and also helps alleviate symptoms.
Mustard oil: mustard oil can be used as a cooking medium. It is rich in vitamins and contains antioxidant properties. Just take half a teaspoon of pure mustard oil in the palm of your hand. With a clean finger rub the oil over the gums using a gentle circular motion.
